The number 2 in front means 2 stage and the following number 10, 20, etc. indicates the maximum displacement volume.
For example, W2V20 model refers to a pump whose maximum displacement is 200L per minute at 60Hz.
The only performance difference for each model of W2V-series is the maximum displacement per minute. The ultimate pressure is the same for every model.
It is a very difficult question. Although it depends on condition of pipes and the maximum attainable degree of vacuum of the chamber, in general, it is safer to select a vacuum pump from 2 times to 3 times of the total volume amounts you want to make a vacuum state. In this case, you can choose of W2V40 and W2V20.
Vacuum pump moves the gas (air) to the outside from a confined space. In low vacuum section between the atmospheric pressure (760 Torr) and 10 Torr, since the amount of air sucked into the vacuum pump is large, the phenomenon that the vacuum oil is discharged with the air as a fine mist from the exhaust port will occur. This is referred to as the oil mist and we use the oil mist trap to prevent this phenomenon.
The best way is to install the exhaust line in the exhaust port and connect it to the duct and hood to extract outside, however in case the pump should be moved frequently or having difficulty of installing exhaust line, you can use oil mist trap.
Oil mist trap is a kind of filter. Regular replacement is necessary like the filter for automobiles.
You should exchange OMT when you can find the oil look like boiling or accumulated oil about 5mm at the bottom of the trap.
W2V series is the oil circulation rotary pump. Therefore, the most important thing is the management of the oil. Pump rotates at 1700rpm and the vacuum oil lubricates the pump. Hence without constant replacement of oil, like car engine oil, the life of the pump will be reduced. Also, if the solid powder is likely to inflow into pump, proper filter should be used in inlet. In case of using moisture or solvents and being sucked into the pump, use a cold trap in front of vacuum pump or replace the oil frequently.
The first thing you should do is connecting vacuum gauge sensor directly to the inlet of pump and measure the vacuum level
If the vacuum level comes out normal, a leak in pipeline or chamber should be suspected. Despite of measuring directly from the pump, if vacuum does not appear correctly, please contact the sales department.
